My 'Pink Ribbons' is a token of support for all who need it.
What a wonderful idea Bookcrossing is. I am married and have two sons. I like to read when I get the chance and try to encourage my boys to read (difficult at times). My husband is an avid reader and takes up most of our bookshelf space with his books. I occasionally like to do cross stitch, knitting and go swimming on a regular basis.
The genre I prefer is relationship/family type stories. I enjoy reading a variety of authors, including Anita Shreve and Adriana Trigiani, Joanne Harris, Rosamunde Pilcher, Rosie Thomas, Judy Astley, Joanne Trollope, Jodi Picoult, Diane Chamberlain, to name but a few.
New authors added to my list now are Amy Tan, Alice Hoffman and Isla Dewar. I am finding lots of good books to read thanks to Lyzzybee and her bookrings. Linda Gillard's 'Emotional Geology' and 'Star Gazing' being two of my favourites.
The trilogy, Big Stone Gap, Big Cherry Holler and Milk Glass Moon by Adriana Trigiani is one of my favourites. Also enjoyed very much was 'The Olive Farm/Season/Harvest by Carol Drinkwater. Have followed that up by an illustrated copy of her book which takes you there and you can imagine it now in all its glory.
