I am who I want to be. But if I were to be specific, I would probably describe myself as a middle-aged male with thinning red hair, a great smile, and a passion for intellectual discourse, great literature, as well as good and bad literature, and the field of anthropology. I like good food, mostly Asian, Indonesian and Central American. The spicier the better. Chocolate is fabulous. Chocolate with strawberries and champagne is even better. Although I tell an occasional good story, I am not a raconteur nor do I aspire to be one, but I love listening to a good story, especially those with wit and charm. I own my own house. It is always cluttered and filled with books...mostly literature, the great, the good and the bad, and anthropology with emphasis on the Southwest, the Pacific, Central America and dead people. I live alone by choice. Previous living companions had a hard time with the clutter. Although I love animals, I have no pets because they would be alone more than 12 hours a day. That strikes me as cruel. I am well travelled having visited parts of Asia, Micronesia, New Zealand, Iceland, South Africa and much of Central America. I have not avoided Europe...just cannot afford it. I have been to London however, several times...one of the great cities of the world. I rarely do housework on weekends...yardwork is a bore...but put me in a kayak on the ocean or drop me into the middle of a Southwestern desert and I am a free man. Winters are for reading by the fireplace with hot buttered rum near at hand. Summers are for beaches, kayaks, tequila and Negra Modelo. Spring and Fall I don't know much about as they are too short to make much impact. That's me. Not 100%, but mostly.
