Extended Profile
I started giving my books away several years ago when I moved. On unpacking, I discovered many books had yellowed and had started to crumble. Feeling like a despot who builds palaces and collects treasures only for himself, I decided to give many of my
books to friends
and Oxfam before they rotted (the books not friends and Oxfam). If Oxfam can't sell all donated books in their local shops, they dispatch them to the incredibly good Oxfam bookshops.
BC is even better as there is the bonus of discussion and humour. I'm happy to see so many animal lovers on this website, too.
I don't want to trade as I need the space. I like the idea of sending my books to other BXers for possible release to make the journeys more exciting. Most times I shall not want postage.
I do ask the recipients to PM me a description of what is outside their home. Can be any length, even two lines. To me this is like having original short stories arriving out of the blue.
