Extended Profile
Hi! I'm Dad. I really enjoy being Dad. When I got married, I gained a best friend and lover. I became a Husband. I loved it. But, when we had kids, we started a whole new civilization! There is almost nothing more satisfying than watching small brains
discover and develop and feel emotion and gain intellect. Mom and I are like caretakers in the garden where God planted the world's most exotic and beautiful plants. They are gifts beyond measure. That's why I'm Dad.
My wife got me jazzed about Bookcrossing when she discovered it while we were on a family vacation. Bookcrossing is really the perfect extention of who I am. I am a book lover who loves to give away books. Why should it cost so much money for us to read? What can be better than sharing good words? I like the library. But my library charges me when it takes me longer than two weeks to get into a book.
I wish that I had tracking numbers on all of the books that I have given away over the years. Sometimes they find their way back. So, now all I need to do is add the number. Also, I have somehow been buying twice as many books as I've been reading for the past 17 years. Those ones I haven't read are getting put back into circulation with the ones that I have. My money hasn't been wasted.
Bookcrossing helps me keep my shelves clean, and it goes against my selfish, hoarding nature. It helps me to keep generosity as a part of my character.
