Perhaps you've arrived in this place at this time because you have found a book that I have 'released into the wild', CONGRATULATIONS! Lovely to meet you. If you choose, you may either keep the book for your pleasure, pass it on to a friend OR 'RELEASE IT INTO THE WILD' like I did! It's free, you don't have to join anything or give out any personal information, Whew! This site is for fun and for promoting literacy. If you choose the 'release mission' (cue music here)-- and it would be a kindness if you do -- please leave a journal entry to let myself and others know where you found it and what you thought of it.
in gratitude ~ Caliroe

Zen quote :
Be soft in your practice. Think of the method as a fine silvery stream, not a raging waterfall.
Follow the stream, have faith in its course. It will go its own way, meandering here, trickling there.
It will find the grooves, the cracks, the crevices. Just follow it. Never let it out of your sight. It will take you....
Sheng-yen.

This quote is one I choose to live by and one I sense is the essence of BookCrossing... the beauty of release. That is one reason this site is so attractive to me. Another is that I am a lifelong, voracious reader.

Am not religious... Zen is my chosen life practice. While Zen is generally associated with Buddhism, it can also be practiced by itself or in communion with a variety of other religious paths.
I practice Simple Zen.

Grew up traveling the USA/world with a voracious reader and telephone company design engineer father, and a voracious reader and stay at home mother. Lost track of how many times we moved, but was regularly 'the new girl' in school and neighborhoods -- sometimes twice in one year. So books were my dearest and Very Best Friends.

In childhood I would disappear with a pile of books and several apples or oranges... existing only in the space between the lines.

Early life incarnations: voracious reader, computer systems analyst, dance teacher, elementary school reading aide, Spellbinder -- briefly... could not remember the stories well enough to tell in public ;~0

Present : ahhhhh the present.... voracious reader, listener, friend, artist/teacher, sister, wife, mother, ***GRANDMOTHER OF THREE***, bird watcher, elephant lover/conservationist (see link below), Stop World Hunger activist (click on link below), photographer, writer/poet, devoted companion to a beloved 13 year old Italian Spinone -- technically species: Canine --- she believes otherwise, cook -- the term Chef is too high falutin' for me, gardener AND (may I brag here? Not very Zen is it???))the most observant, creative, patient, stealthy, detail oriented and planned to the Nth degree, PRACTICAL JOKER this side of the TV series Just For Laughs... have you seen that show?

With that aside, I engage in interactions with all life on this planet with a vast amount of honor, respect and a gianormous dose of humor.
Life is an abundant adventure worth taking!

This page is still 'in process', so I will have my lists available as soon as I am able. Not certain as to how I will choose to conduct myself as far as trades/rays/etc. go, still trying to figure out the workings, codes and subtle nuances going on here.

I will always be releasing and looking for catches as well as enjoying meeting my fellow readers.

You are soooo very WELCOME here!

If you click on this site there is a button you can click that will provide food -- at no cost to you -- for a hungry person. Neat, huh?
