Extended Profile
According to my mother, my grandmother taught me to read when I was 3 yrs old. I don't remember that, but I do remember being able to read before I started kindergarten. First book I remember reading: Gold Key Books Bambi.
I went thru reading phases from childhood to early adulthood: horror then sci fi then mystery. In between there was a constant interest in mythology and folklore. Somehow or other I also managed to read a few classics, tho not as many as I probably should have. Biggest disappointment: my inability to finish Moby Dick.
I still enjoy an occasion murder mystery, but in the last couple of decades I've started reading mostly non-fiction, usually science or nature related, and travel memiors. Favorite authors now: Loren Eiseley, Tim Cahill and K. C. Cole.
I'm also a big cat lover, and currently enjoying the company of Deirdre, whose picture I've actually figured out how to make an icon of! Yay me.
