Extended Profile
Thanks to the
Country Cottage Crafts website for the picture! :~)
I am a Book Ministry Leader, meaning I am passionate about helping others grow through reading GREAT books! My passion is books, but I also love to write, scrapbook, learn about Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs, and to play piano “by ear.” I hope to someday speak, read, and write Spanish fluently even though I'm just learning (beginner's class) right now! :-P
For the past three years, my average number of books read per year is around 55. I belong to several online book discussion groups, and I spend a good deal of time searching for even more books to read. My personal library has grown tremendously thanks to library sales, goodwill shops, and yard sales, as well as Freecycle.org!
My favorite genre is mystery/suspense. I love Christian fiction, and really enjoy reading Christian "emergent" nonfiction (ie: “A Scandalous Freedom” by Steve Brown, “The Barbarian Way” by Erwin Raphael McManus, “Velvet Elvis” by Rob Bell). Other books I enjoy are ones set in the time periods of Regency England or Ancient Egypt. Favorite authors include Christian Jacq, Susan May Warren, Gaelen Foley, Sandra Brown, Karen Kingsbury, and Lisa Wingate.
At the moment (September 2006), I’m not able to do trades unless I specifically request to do so, due to dire financial circumstances. In other words, unless I’ve saved up money specifically for Bookcrossing books, I can’t afford to trade. :-?
Thanks for visiting my bookshelf!

**BOOKSHELF LEGEND**
* AVAILABLE and TBR books are up for trade. I'll want to read the TBR ones first, though. Just PM me if you see something you like. (Please note that as of right now - Feb.2006 - I'm not doing many trades due to lack of funds.)
* RESERVED are books I'm not sure what I'm going to do with once I'm done reading them, or books that I've received from others that I don't want to promise to anyone until I've read them.
* PERMANENT COLLECTION are books that I am keeping (at least for now). Some are favorites, some I just don't want to part with for a while. Please don't ask for these.
