The age mentioned on my profile is not my actual age. It's my BookCrossing adventure-age. It still fits for my preference in reading is YA Fantasy, so... oh well, but my actual age is quite a bit older.
Books are a great way for me to get away from everything and everyone. I am a reader who sometimes devours books and sometimes doesn't have a book in hand to read for weeks (or longer), but I love reading.
I prefer (YA) Fantasy, I also read other genres, such as thrillers, romances (strangely enough I've read a lot of these lately while they are not my favourite genre) and poetry, but almost no non-fiction. I am a big fan of main characters who can be wonderfully sarcastic. I read a lot in English, especially if the book was originally written in English. Otherwise, I only read in my native language: Dutch.
I volunteer in a second-hand bookshop, which I love. The books that I register and let go of are almost all donated to me and do not reflect my personal preference at all.
Things I like besides books: dark chocolate, biscuits (or cookies, depends on what side of the big pond you are from ;-) ), plants, board- and card-games, BookCrossing labels/stickers (also self-made), all sorts of bookends, and craft-beers ;-) Oh, and sleep, lots of sleep.
