I work full time in accounting (no stereotype, though!) I have been in a book club since 1987. The benefits of my book club include the ongoing friendships being introduced to books that I may not have read otherwise. I read a variety of books preferring novels that tell a story about lives, periods and places unfamiliar to me. I have found that in most well told stories, no matter how foreign or unfamiliar the lives and places, there are universal emotions and concerns. I grow as I read because my world expands at least in my mind.

I grew up in a farming community with a close family in Michigan. We had no TV or movies growing up; there were lots of family and social gatherings, books, puzzles, games and outdoor activity plus plenty of farm work.

Other interests: Gardening, mostly flowers and landscaping (I have more garden books than cookbooks though I like to cook) Dogs! (they love and adore me unconditionally) Movies (I prefer the art films and foreign films.) Talk, Being with friends or just being with my husband.
