To all with mental health problems, just think - they may not always be problems. -- Stuart Olds
Humanity caught in deadly positive feedback loop of ever more desperate technological measures to fix earlier technology's ecology impacts. -- Ecological Internet
Geoengineering, the last desperate throw of the dice, conveniently ignoring that it was human greed, global corporations that brought about the need.
We are destroying Gaian control mechanisms. We need to revert back to our original role as custodians of Gaia. The most important of our Gaian control mechanisms are forests.
Hope's Truth is an alegorical tale of the state the Earth is in today, very close to a tipping point where we rapidly flip to another state.
At a press conference in Istanbul, Paulo Coelho responded to a quote from Turkish writer Orhan Pamuk on mental health and writers. I think it was Orhan Pamuk saying he would go mad if he did not write and Paulo Coelho responding it was because he was mad that he did write. But not sure, maybe it was the other way around.
As he describes in the preface, Hope's Truth came to Stuart Olds during a manic period, it was as though it had been downloaded to his brain. [see Stuart says it was as if book was 'downloaded into my brain']
Synchronicity: I met Stuart Olds at a book signing at the Alton Food Festival. I mentioned that earlier in the day I had almost picked up a copy of Veronika Decides to Die by Paulo Coelho. Had I done so I would have given him a copy. Little did I know when I explained to him what the book was about, that Stuart Olds is a manic depressive, bi-polar! [see switching on the codes]
