I'm usually not wild about translations. Maybe this book would be better in its original language?
All of the characters felt flat, and I wasn't tremendously invested in their futures. Oddly enough, my favorite was Rei-Ginsei, whom I found hilarious in an over-the-top Lothario kind of way. I laughed out loud at the description of his appearance:
His age must have been around twenty. He had gorgeous black hair that spilled down to his shoulders, and deep brown eyes that seemed ready to swallow the world, leaving all who beheld them feeling gloriously drunk. The youth was an Asian Apollo.
