This book is a Canadian Classic that has been loved all over the World and has been translated into 17 languages. If you can see the 1980's Canadian television series made of this book it's really excellently done. It was filmed in Prince Edward Island and Ontario. I volunteer at the Pioneer villiage in Ontario where the train station, drygoods store and church were used in the filming.

Of course I've heard of this book. I think friends have recommended it to me several times since 5th grade. Even though they have, I've never read it. Never knew it was Canadian, and I didn't even knew the English title until now. Now I get the chance to, and that's great as I've heard so much good about it. Thank you!
STORED: As I can't bring all of my boks to China, even if I wanted to, this book will be stored at my parents house during my year in China.
I enjoyed reading this book and will soon send it out on new adventures!

Received in a lovely parcel from the generous Foxears for the Book, tea and chocolate sweepstake. Although the book is a classic, I've never got round to reading it, not for any particular reason, I've just always had other books ahead of it. One of my good friends LOVES the Anne books. I mean she REALLY loves them, so you've now galvanised me to read them, and she will be very happy that I an chat about them with her. Thank you very much. :-)
At the beginning of the book I found Anne a little bit over the top, but as it went on and her flights of fancy and incessant talking calmed down a little I became quite fond of her. I really like the adult characters in this book, and the way they are happy to admit to any changes in their first opinions of Anne. Thanks very much for getting me to read this at long last Foxears! I'll be borrowing the rest from my local library.

Anne knows she's not what they expected - a skinny girl with fiery red hair and a temper to match. If only she can convince them to let her stay, she'll try very hard not to keep rushing headlong into scrapes and blurting out the first thing that comes to her mind. Anne is not like anybody else, the Cuthberts agree: she is special - a girl with an enormous imagination. This orphan girl dreams of the day when she can call herself Anne of Green Gables.
Edit; Februari 29, 2016: My opinion: Anne of Green Gable is a charming story. I love it. Anne is so full of life and often she is coming into trouble. Her fantasy is enormous and fachinating. A very good book to read and I really enjoyed to spend time with it.
