Cider with Roadies is a story of growing up with pop. From Stuart's audience with the Beatles (age three) to a boyish dalliance with Northern Soul, from the radical effect of punk on his politics, homework and trouser dimensions to ending up writing for the NME by accident and living the sex, drugs (chiefly lager in a plastic glass) and rock 'n' roll lifestyle.
On the way he discovers the tawdry truth behind the glamour and finds out when to ditch it for what really matters.
