It's not easy being Rhys Williams. You're married to the sexiest woman in Torchwood. She saves the world for a living, you move lorries round in a timely fashion. Suddenly, you've got a mystery of your own. Oh, it starts off being about missing fridges. But it leads to a midnight train pulling into an abandoned platform at Cardiff Station. What is the mysterious cargo that Rhys is unloading from the train? Where's it going? And what can be behind it? Rhys Williams is going to get to the bottom of it. All by himself, thank you very much. Soon Captain Jack is missing, his wife's dead, and it's up to Rhys to try and put everything right. And find those fridges...Written specially for audio by James Goss, "Ghost Train" is set before the 'Children of Earth' TV story and features Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper and Ianto Jones, as played by John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Gareth David-Lloyd in the hit series from BBC Television. It is read by Kai Owen, who plays Rhys.

Comment (8/6/11): *whines* I want more Torchwood audiobooks! Simply loved this one, which for a change is told from Rhys' perspective. I always envied Gwen for her husband. Rhys is so cuddly *gggg*

This one will be shared as an AudioBookRing with:
1) Schneefee
2) DieHenkerin
3) delfinnetti
4) calisson
5) RikkiDD
and then back home

ha, und wie! Fabelhafter Umschlag, übrigens... ich vermute, das Motiv wurde nicht ganz zufällig gewählt? ;-)

i would rate this 11 if I could!
I always envied Gwen for her husband, and an audiobook told by Rhys is absolutely gorgeous - although Kai Owen gave me a hard time to understand him, esp. when speaking as Mandy (that's the clerk's name, isn't it?)

This audiobook arrived today safe and sound. Theoraticaly there are two other audio-rings in front of these three Torchwood/Doctor Who stories... but theory - who cares ;-)
I´m sure I will listen to them this weekend and they will be over far to soon. Thanks for mailing the CDs and for making a ring of them!

Edit 31.07.2011
I listened to this audiobook friday during a 4 hour car drive. Cora (my satnav) redirect me several times but I can´t tell you how I got where I was going. The only drawback was, that the audiobook was interrupted every half an hour for 5-10 Minutes for the traffic report. The book was SO Rhys! I could practically see the movie in front of my eyes (instead of the street - a wonder I arrived alive - but I keep believing that I drive safer with an audiobook. I´m far more allert! The audiobook gets just switched off automatic by my brain, when there is something hard to manage on the street - like that roundabout in Kassel with 3 lanes! - sorry for that, if any of you were there... I´d have never gotten in if I´d have waited my turn and I didn´t see my exit coming around in time - but everybody else were doing the same ;-)
Anyway this audiobook is brilliant!
Spoiler in white - mark to read:
Hillarious! Rhys fumbles along through several time travells without a clou what to do! Apocalypse is in there somewhere with dragons, rains of fire and the plague - in Cardif again of course. And Rhys hiding in Iantos laundry-room when Jack is staying over because Jack can´t know about the time travell thing and Ianto doses himself with the amnesia-pills every day so he won´t mess up the future... *grin* But the best bit is where Rhys can´t meet himself (there are several options for that) because A ALARM WOULD GO OFF IN STEPHEN HAWKINGS OFFICE and THE WORLD WOULD END *LOL*
Also nice when he meets Jack on the train and Jack is pissed off because Rhys has just hit him with a bucket over the head (possibly killing Jack) and he can´t shout at him for that because he catches on that it hasn´t happened jet for Rhys! I laughed out loud nearly constantly! Great audiobook! Best yet in the Torchwood Series!

14.02.12:
hat sich endlich auf den Weg gemacht. Die Verzögerung tut mir leid.

Journal Entry 10 by RikkiDD at Dresden, Sachsen Germany on Saturday, February 25, 2012
The Gost Train arrived in Dresden this morning - unseen by everyone else, except me.
Before it could leave again - it was time to stop in the CD-player to be listened to a brilliant story.
All the other before wrote enough about the plot - nothing for me to add at this point.
I haven't seen or listen to any Torchwood story so far, but this calls for more. It came a bit as a surprise to hear a good Welsh dialect and being transported into the lovely city of Cardiff.
Thank that I could join this ring.
