The whole idea of a single female travelling to a 'remote' Scottish island is a bit corny and smacks of 1960s ideas of Scotland from an English point of view. The Scottish Independence plot reads likes a 1970s storyline and rather dated.

As for the story, well I was left disappointed that Jemina Shore Investigator didn't do any actual investigating!

From the opening descriptions of the setting, I think the story is set on Eilean Aigas on the river Beauly, so may release the book somewhere local.
