This book changed the way I see EVERYTHING. It was the dynamite that exploded the belief system that had been handed to me from my parents, from the TV set, from the newspapers, from school, from the cartoons, from the churches. It was also the seed out of which would grow a different worldview that changed the course of my life.

A bookstore cashier recommended the book to me. Had I not been there on that day, things would be so different for me right now. It's crazy to say, but that's how powerful ideas are.

In the words of Jim Britell, "From now on I will divide the books I have read into two categories- the ones I read before ISHMAEL and those read after". My only regret is waiting so long to read it (i've had the book since may-it is now late august). This novel has opened my eyes, and answered those questions I never knew I wanted to ask, nor who to ask them to.
I never found this book, it found me. A stranger approached me on the street and recomended it. I said someday I would check it out. But that wasnt soon enough, this stranger soon found me four blocks away and 45 minutes later and gave me a copy of this extraordinary novel. I've just finished it and am ready for a revolution.
