Drizzt is a 'normal' character (to us) born into a race that we would think of as psychopaths. Unfortunately his racial characteristics make everyone he meets think that he is one of the psychopaths. So this book is not just a great fantasy yarn, but also a lesson in looking at the person beneath the surface characteristics. Can be read alone, although the series is so good it's worth getting them all!
