Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West
6 journalers for this copy...
I bought this book from the sale table a year or so ago and finally got to it when I was planning to give it to Herchelle for the Canada Smiles sweepstakes. RUreading beat me to it and passed the second book to me, so I think I'll see if she wants to read this one.
In retrospect I shouldn't have put it down for a few days between parts since I had forgotten some important details when i picked it back up again. I reccomend reading this one when you have no other books on the go - the plot is richly detailed and you need to stay on top of things!
To the finder:
Welcome to bookcrossing! You have "caught" what we call a "travelling book." It is now your book to keep or to read and pass on to another reader and follow where the book goes. This is done by journal entries, so I really hope you'll journal it, if only to tell me you found it. You can do this anonymously, or sign up (free and private, no spam) and also be able to follow the book as it travels! If you do, please consider listing me, megami-no-ushi as your referring member.

Bookcrossers are generous and thoughtful. Thanks for thinking of me, megami-no-ushi.
This book was slow to get into because of the detailed background the author creates for Elphaba but it is worth the effort. The author cleverly reveals a life of trial that shapes this witch that is entertaining and thoughtful.
Taken to the Calgary BC Meetup at the Joshua Tree Cafe today.
Picked up at the April Calgary BC meeting.
Taken back to the Calgary Bookcrossing Meeting, I've run out of time to read it.

Finally finished this book today. I quite enjoyed the first three fifths of the book, but am not quite sure how I feel about the last two fifths of the book. Though I did quite enjoy how the very end of it was written.
There were times when I felt that the author was trying too hard to create a sucky world with psychotic characters, and it didn't quite meet my expectations of reconciling with the original story of the wizard of oz, but on a whole it was an interesting sort of political/religious story. Definitely the quirky characters made me giggle more than once.
Thanks for the interesting read!

Picked this up at the October Meeting.
Picked this up when in the middle of a difficult book. It was weird at the beginning. Then it pulls you forward with hints of how this ties into the original story. Always enjoy books that are takeoffs of favorite stories.
I am taking this book to the March meet up for Book Crossing at Cravings. Scramble to finish reading it in time. Just under the wire!
Picked this up at March's Calgary BookCrossing meeting, adding to my to be read pile.
