Book Description: Annabel thinks her mom has the best life. If she were a grown-up, she could do whatever she wanted. Then one morning she wakes up to find she's turned into her mother...and she soon discovers it's not as easy as it looks!

Disney brings this popular and funny favorite to the silver screen in a new, totally modern story, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. (Originally released in 1972.)

Giving this to my daughter to read, then it will be ready to travel on a new adventure via Bookcrossing.

I'm taking this from the Teens Bookbox. It's the movie-tie-in edition for the 2003 film adaptation.

This was rather fun, though I was surprised to find that in the book there's no mystical outside influence causing the change - it's deliberately invoked by [spoiler: the mother, by unspecified means]. This rather changes the dynamic, though the lessons learned remain valid. (I admit I was iffy on the "makeover the daughter while in her body" element, though it does seem to have been helpful.) And I found the multiple endings pretty funny; heroine Annabel makes several tries at describing how her post-transformation meeting with her potential boyfriend turned out, tweaking the scenarios until she gets one she likes!

[There's a TV Tropes page for the 2003 film, with reference to the book and to the previous film.]
