Definitely one of the best YA books I've ever read - the series is addictive.
Product Description
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlaying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one girl and one boy between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV. Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she is forced to represent her district in the Games. But Katniss has also resolved to outwit the creators of the games. To do that she will have to be the last person standing at the end of the deadly ordeal, and that will take every ounce of strength and cunning she has.

my choice from Minerva101's YA VBB and brought to the meeting for me on saturday!

Spectacular series. I zoomed through these earlier this week a book a day to finish the whole series! The heroine was awesome, the social commentary spot on and thrilling the whole way through.

Passed to crossing guard.

I got passed this book to read. Thanks so much, it is one that I have wanted to read for a long time! I will return when I am finished.

What an amazing book! I started reading it and didn't stop until it was finished. The characters are great, the world is great, everything is great. I have the other two in the series so will have to start them soon. Can't wait to see where the author goes from here.
This is to be returned to megami so I will take this to February's meet up. She will not be there but I can pass it to someone else to get it to her.

Ok.... I've resisted this book several times because I simply didn't want to read it! But, now with the movie coming round I told myself if it surfaced again that I would give it a try.
Wish me luck, as I'm still fighting it! (And may need Tums, if I have to eat my words...)

Tough read for me, because I avoid post-apocolyptic stories, but I promised myself to read this book.
The story was exactly as I'd imagined and was well written, just not my genre.
Will be bringing this back to the Calgary group for further circulation.

Releasing at the April Meet-up of Calgary BookCrossers at the Joshua Tree Café.

Picked up at the meeting today. Looking foreward to it.

OK - I started this before I went into the hospital and finished it in there. Kept the pain at bay reading it. Oh the things people do for amusement, and for love.

Taking to the May meeting at the Joshua Tree Cafe to either pass on or leave on the bookshelf.
