I found a duplicate copy of my all time favorite Shakespeare play. I liberated it from the local friends of the library sale -- my favorite spot for getting books to register at book crossing.

Release planned for Saturday, October 04, 2003 at fellow bookcrosser in Auburn, Alabama USA.

I should have sent this bookrelay book to Phantomreader42 two weeks ago. It completely slipped my mind! I'll be sending it out this Saturday. Sorry about the delay!

I got this book in the mail yesterday from caligula03, through the Theater Plays BookRelay. I'll read it as soon as I can get around to it. I've read some Shakespeare before (Romeo & Juliet, Julius Caesar, Othello, A Midsummer Night's Dream), but this is the first Shakespearean play on my BookCrossing shelf. Maybe the Immortal Bard will add some class to my strange collection of random literature. Thanks for sending me your all-time favorite!

Don't worry about the delay, I don't mind, I have plenty of other books to read. You're worrying too much about something that doesn't really matter, which is kind of appropriate for this book. ;-)

I was required to read this play in college, for an English Literature class. I enjoyed it more and got more out of it this time, reading it on my own.
A romantic comedy about two very different couples. Hero is a virtuous maiden, daughter of the Governor of Messina, soon to marry Claudio, a lord of Florence. The two are clearly in love, openly romantic, and eager to be united in holy matrimony. Beatrice and Benedick, on the other hand, constantly taunt each other, and scoff at the very idea of marriage. Benedick makes constant references to a cuckold’s horns. Don Pedro, the Prince, hatches a plot (with the help of Hero and Claudio) to trick Beatrice and Benedick into falling in love with each other. At the same time, Don John, his bastard brother, plans to slander Hero and break up the coming marriage. Will Claudio’s feelings for Hero survive this test? Can two people who laugh at love fall into it? Read it for yourself!
Most of the times I’ve read Shakespeare, it’s been plays that were required for English classes, such as Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, Othello, and Much Ado About Nothing, though I read A Midsummer Night’s Dream on my own. Much Ado is now my favorite Shakespeare play too. It’s a comedy that’s still funny after centuries, and a love story that laughs at love and lovers. I like a quote from Benedick Everyone cannot master a grief but he that has it, (though some scholars omit the not) about how one must have experienced a grief before one can deal with it, despite the attempts of many well-meaning people to solve problems they know nothing about.
Many thanks to caligula03 for sharing this with me. I’ll probably be reading more Shakespeare in the future.

I plan to make this part of Cody's Release on April 6th, in memory of fsr44's dad. I hope I can think of an appropriate place to release it.

I taped the following note into the back cover in preparation for release:
This book has been set free as part of "Cody's Release," in memory of fellow BookCrosser fsr44's dad, who died April 6, 1998. He was a WWII veteran, a voracious reader, and the father of five children, including BookCrossers fsr44 and truthteller. He enjoyed Shakespeare, and had a wicked sense of humor, so hopefully he would have appreciated this release location for Much Ado About Nothing.

I plan to take fsr44's suggestion and release the book by Janet Jackson's new CD.

Released on Tuesday, April 06, 2004 at Colonial Mall in Auburn, Alabama USA.

Left in FYE, in the Top 20 section, behind Janet Jackson's latest CD, a little before 1pm. What better example of Much Ado About Nothing is there these days than Janet Jackson? Thanks to fsr44 for suggesting the release location.
This book was set free as part of Cody's Release, as detailed above. The picture to the left is of Cody.
