What a lovely book to read during my holidays! It took some time to get used to the oldish language but after couple of chapters I didn't have to think about it anymore and the reading became quite fluent. This was fashinating book, interesting story, very enjoyable!
I do have to get the second part on my hands too :)

Sending this to Annelis next, she has this on her wishlist.
Oh, thank you for this wonderful surprise, Chania! And what is more, I happen to read Jane Austin (in Finnish) by Carol Shields just now. So I'll read this book very soon, I think.
Oh no, it was not very soon at all that I read the book! Too many books and too little time even after my retirement.
This was a pleasant reading in spite of the oldish language and partly just because of it! Life was not easy then but for a few.
This is my book #87 in the Reduce Mount TBR 2018 -challence by Dove-i-libri.
