John Cardinal & partner Lise Delorme try to find a way through false, misleading information with confusing interference from the RCMP & CSIS. A tangled plot coincides with the tangled emotions John struggles with for Lise, his partner. The climatic end with his family and a severe ice storm combine with effective imagery. Blunt's characters keep your interest with believable traits, flaws, and vulnerabilities.

Releasing at the Calgary BC Meetup at the Joshua Tree Cafe today.
Picked up this book at the Calgary BookCrossing March meet-up. Thanks rureading for getting the next book in the series!
The ending's a bit of a let down. You think something might happen, but nothing really does. I wonder if this plot point will come back in a later book. Cardinal is certainly less angst-y in this book but I really don't see him "struggling" with his feelings for Lise. Unless this, too, will build up over the series. Still fun to see a book set in Canada.

Releasing this book at the Calgary BookCrossing May meet-up. If it didn't go home with someone, it's being hoarded for the Canada Day release challenge in July.
Brought the book home for future wild release.
Taking the book to the Calgary BC Meetup at the Joshua Tree Cafe today.
I got this at the Aug. meeting as I finished his other book and enjoyed it. Looking foreward to this one.
I enjoyed this as much as the first one. Loved how the ice storm was an integral part of the story.
I am taking this to the Sept. meeting.
Picked up at meet up. Number 2 in the series...
Brrr it is cold in this story. Ice storm. But the beautiful descriptions remind me of those beautiful days with the horra frost.
Not a "thriller", kinda plods along. I agree with locker-monster that the ending was a bit of a let down.
None the less, I enjoy the books and will continue with the series.

Taking to bookcrossing meet up to pass on to those waiting for number 2 in the series
No takers so I brought it home for my husband to read as I have enjoyed the series so much.
Taking to the Dec. meeting at Joshua Tree Cafe. Husband read all day - I arrived home and he hadn't showered, dressed, shaved or done dishes! But he had finished the book.
Adding to Mnt. TBR. Thanks a ton.
Enjoyed this second book in the series. It's nice to see a Canadian author in a thriller series.
Taking to the February BookCrossing meet-up at the Joshua Tree Café.
Taking to the February BookCrossing meet-up at the Joshua Tree Café.
Picked up at February's meeting. As usual I brought too many books home. Adding to my TBR pile.
I'm with others, the ending was a bit of a dissapointment. I was all geared up for a conclusion like in the first one but then it just kind of ended. I mean we know what happened but I would have liked a little more resolution. Perhaps I am just too used to Maisie Dobbs where everything is tied up in a nice little bow...
I still enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the next one in the series.

Picked this up at the December book crossing meeting for my husband to read as he grew up in the town where this series takes place. Haven't read the first book yet so this one will be added to my TBR pile until I get the first book.
I am really enjoying this series and look forward to the next one which takes during the warmer months. After all it's not winter all the time in Canada.
Taking this to the April Book Crossing Meeting at Cravings to be enjoyed by the next reader
