English is a beautiful language which should give us pleasure, not pain. John Humphrys pokes fun at the many ways people manage to mangle our language.
He also raises serious issues about people in power who use words to manipulate us.
Language should be simple, clear and honest. Where it is not, we need to ask why - and do something about it.

Not something I would have chosen for myself. However, John Humphrys has an entertaining and engaging voice that made this book go quicker than I thought I would. It feels like you're listening to a comedy show rather than facts about the English language.

It has been a rough year for me, health wise, and keeping on top of Bookcrossing has had to take a backseat. I'm finally catching up with journaling. Thanks so much for sending me this audiobook, Ythan. Sorry it has taken me this long.
I enjoyed the author's take on the English language. I thought maybe it would be a bit dry. Instead, I found Humphrys' wit quite entertaining. Thanks for sharing!
