The Elegant Gathering of White Snows

What a wonderful and empowering book for and about women! It touched my heart by reminding me of so many of the wonderful women I have been lucky enough to know throughout my life. It also included one of the most compelling descriptions of depression I have ever read.
As I read, I thought often of my mother's best friend from my childhood, Charlotte, and my favorite childhood babysitter, Suzie, both of whom passed away in the past few years. I could imagine either one of them picking up and walking because it just felt right (although Charlotte might not have made it eight days in her pumps!), and both of them did inspire other women to believe in themselves and to follow their dreams--and like the women in the book, they didn't fully realize that doing what feels right for you often has a ripple effect.
