A group of students share a house in the '80s, fall in and out of love, and drift apart. A decade later they are drawn back together by a series of coincidences involving their obsessions with sleep. Sarah is narcoleptic, who has dreams so vivid she mistakes them for real events. Robert has his life changed forever by the misunderstandings that arise from her condition. Terry an insomniac, spends his nights fuelling his obsession with moves. The incresingly unstable Dr Gregory Dudden sees sleep as a life-shortening disease that he must eradicate.
I totally enjoyed this book, the story moves between the 80's and the 90's and builds up to a somewhat unexpected climax. Interesting for anyone who has ever had a deep relationship with their duvet, or who ponders on dreams, and their relationship with fate and all that.
