This is the first Poirot mystery I've ever read, and I must say I really enjoyed it. The plot was well-developed and the characters seemed realistic. The story had a neat twist at the end, but not an easily predictable one. I also very much enjoyed the French phrases sprinkled liberally around the novel, as I am/was a speaker of French myself. An enjoyable book, purchased in the Whitefish, Montana library for twenty-five cents US.
