The Woman Who Walked Into Doors

Another one that I read quite some time ago, but I do recall being blown away by Doyle's gritty narrative. He is one of my favourite contemporary authors.

It's taken me forever to finally post this entry! This was not a book I would have normally read, but I'm glad I did. I was shocked at the reality of the story and that it was written by a man from a woman's perspective. The subject of abuse is not an easy one to stomach but it really opened my eyes to what some women could be enduring even as I read this work of fiction. Even though I finished it a couple weeks ago I am still haunted by it. Gives me much to ponder...
Thx to Amanda for passing it on to me!

My wife had this mailed to her- I picked it up when she finished reading. Very engaging read- the best that can be said about any novel, Doyle makes you care about the outcome, and feel for the characters. Definitely recommended.

The subject matter was interesting. It provided a glimpse into a troubled life. From that vantange point the reader gains some insight on why people do and endure the things they do. I found that pretty fascinating. What I didn't like about the book was the way it jumped around so much. I felt like things would get to a point where the story was all starting to come together and then it would shift gears. It was a pretty quick read though so overall I think it was worth the investment of time.

RELEASE NOTES:
The book was ok, not great not terrible.
I found the Irish vernacular interesting. Also quotation marks were not used, making it slightly difficult to discern when someone was speaking.
Alot of the book was redundant, the main character kept repeating the same thing over and over again
