Futuristic dystopia. I haven't read it.
Hardcover edition.
Hardcover edition.
Mailed off today to SpikesMom, who accepted it on BookRelay. The Post Office estimates it should arrive by Friday.
How about arrived ON Friday?
Am eager to read, of course, or I wouldn't have relayed it!

I really liked Carr's first two books, really well-done and atmospheric historical mysteries. And I liked this, too, but found I couldn't finish it.
The problem is that the dystopia that Carr has created is just too close to reality for me to stomach. I'm cynical enough to believe that this sort of population manipulation is already happening, and reading about one place where it could head is, quite frankly, making me sick.
I hope Carr's vision of our future is wrong.

This was sent to me on a relay by SpikesMom.
I loved Carr's hist fict mysteries, so I'm interested to see what this is like.
Thanks so much for sending this my way!
