Before William Gibson invented the term 'Cyberpunk' there were writers like Alfred Bester. Bester's world of the future is dark and gritty and the bizarre characters who populate Bester's books are not all nice people. They are often unsavory, brutish, avaricious or just plain cruel. But they always have an interesting story to tell.
