I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend this book to everyone, male and female and any age group. It is a love story told in a very unique way, with lots of twists and turns. It kept me guessing till the end, as I didn't know how it was going to turn out. It was surprising how many emotions it evoked in me. Simply, it follows the story of Em and Dex, as we catch up with them on the same day, every year, for 20 years. A unique way of telling a story I thought.

I will be handing out my 48 books in a pub in Milton Keynes on World Book Night.

Really enjoyed this, it's not a perfect piece of writing by any means but it draws you in and keeps your interest for 20 years which is no mean feat! The 'one day a year' tactic is very effective because it keeps the action moving and makes you want to read on. The protagonists both could've used a kick up the bum at several junctures I thought - Emma needed a confidence injection and Dexter just needed a good slapping at times! - but then I suppose that's the whole point, people are flawed and they learn and grow. There were a few historical inaccuracies which bugged me - I'm always being told editors won't stand for any mistakes!! - but generally the book brought back great memories of the 80s, 90s and 00s, and also summed up perfectly what it's like to be a student. A great selection for World Book Night, thanks for sharing Retromonkey!
