The seven friends who get together for a girl's night out believe there are only two things wrong with men: everything they say and everything they do. I just caught this from a very-generous allbookedup when a bunch of us met for coffee, chatting and book-swapping yesterday--- thanks so much for passing it along! I'm not a huge chicklit fan, but thought I would check this one out since so many others in vienna had read it (interesting that no one said whether they liked it or not though--- should i be worried?!) :)

Have a few books ahead of this one, so will get to it in the next few weeks i imagine.

Meh.... picked this up off my TBR pile over the weekend after i had finished "Animal Dearms" by Barbara Kingsolver.... i shouldn't have done that.

This book pales in comparison. Some of the stories were not bad, but most of it was trying to hard to be cool and edgy. There were places where the stories could have become very touching and real, but the author pulled them back into superficiality before they could go anywhere real.

"Sushi Girls" probably could have been made into an interesting book, again, if Lette could flesh out her characters and give them... well.... character! :) It had the makings of a very touching, and 'raw' tale about love, attachment, jealousy, and the evetual self-awareness and independence that develops as one grows up in that context. However, she unfortunately left this story short, somewhat trite and altogether unsatisfying.

But that is just me.... :)

Will be releasing this soon, to see if anyone else fares better. Thanks for passing it along!

I picked this up yesterday at the bookcrossing meet-up.
I have a huge pile of books to read, so it will probably take some time until I get to read this one...
