I'm delighted to be a World Book Night book-giver. I'll be giving this, and 47 other copies of Fingersmith, away in York on Saturday night. Can't wait!

I've read Fingersmith a couple of times, and think it's a great book. It's got everything a book needs - a couple of dastardly villains, a couple of feisty heroines, some cracking plot twists and turns... what more could you want? The historical detail is good too, in that it makes you think about life back then, especially the class structure (e.g. which servants do and don't say hello to each other in the morning - what a minefield!).

I think this is a good book to give away on World Book Night because hopefully people might remember it being on the telly, and everybody loves a Victorian lesbian, don't they?!

I'll be giving this book away at Explore York tomorrow night, during the Kate Atkinson World Book Night event. Hopefully it'll find a taker.

I bought this for a mighty one pound in the St Leonard's Hospice charity shop in Haxby this morning. I don't know when I will read it. I really, really want to but it is the last of the Waters' books I have to read, and when it's read, that's it - no more. She needs to crack on and get another written.

I wonder where this book has been the past 10 years....
