Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal

Very, very disturbing.
I feel even better now about my previous decisions NOT to eat fast food because they are now justified.
When I began reading this book, a number of people informed me I would want to become a vegetarian after finishing it because truths presented were so "appalling". I have no inclination in doing so at this point, because I love meat. However, I am even more compelled to avoid eating the crap they serve at such establishments. I wasn't even really all that shocked about Schlosser's descriptions of the processing or overall conditions that exist within the system. I think I was more shocked and horrified about the working conditions in the meatpacking industry because it is a subject fewer people are concerned about because it doesn't directly affect them.

The book arrived in the mail yesterday. I think I'll go have one last Whopper before ingesting these pages. Thanks for sending it.
An eye-opening journey through the dining rooms of America's favorite fast food restaurants! I'm sending this to a fellow bookcrosser. Happy reading...but not while eating.
Yeah! Received in my afternoon mail already! I cannot wait to start reading this book- I've had my eye on it for some time now. Thanks again for sending it this way. Is it normal to be nervous before reading this book???
This book has been promised to hootnoodle when I'm finished with it!
Mailed yesterday to hootnoodle in Washington. You'll enjoy this book for your book group in January! Let me know what you think!
Thanks so much. The book arrived Monday, 12/15. I'll write another journal note after my book group meeting in January.
