The book that started the chick lit genre. I reread this one recently and although the weight parts are irritating, Bridget is endearing.

I received this in yesterday's post. I can't believe I haven't read this yet. (Of course it may be awhile before I read it cause it's going somewhere near the summit of Mt. TBR!)
Okay, I have finally gotten started on this and am on page 46. I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy this (mostly due to the fact that I have a hard time relating to someone moaning about their weight problem when they are 20-25 pounds lighter than I am) but I am starting to become a bit less snarly about it. I don't really care about Bridget yet but am still reading to find out how her parents are going to come through this.
Well I'm a bloody f***wittage (a term I got from Bridget & the only thing of note I got out of this book) for reading this entire book. Bridget is irritating and self-centered; I never cared what happened to her one way or another. I did find some interest in the side story but I really thought this could have been much better. The potential for a good story was there but the author just didn't follow through. I really think the diary concept was a cop-out...makes me wonder if the author didn't feel confident enough to actually write a full novel.

I loved the book and the movie! I work at Blockbuster by Kohl's in Springfield, MO and I found it next to the movie on the shelf when I was cleaning up. I plan to leave it somewhere else for another person to find. :)
