Year of Wonders

An interesting book based on historical facts about how the plague in the 17th century affected a small village in England. The characters are interestingly developed, and the background is well written evoking a sense of what life was like during this time. Although I enjoyed it, I felt some of the actions taken by the village folk were a bit overdone causing me to feel that the integrity of what really would happen was comprimised. I've rated it a little better than average; a book to read and to enjoy but not one that "stays" with you for long.
I read it as one of our book club choices and, while most enjoyed it, discussion was quite brief compared to other books we have read.
