Tepper is the preeminent writer in the Speculative Misandry genre. This first-contact novel repeatedly returns to the "Men are bad" theme. Bad men. Bad.
I'm bringing this one to the meetup tonight at Trident.
I am not a big sci-fi fan so my rating is prejudiced by that fact. That being said, I liked it!! How about that. The book reads like a sci-fi companion to Michael Moore's "Stupid White Men'. Ms. Tepper works well in building her characters relationships with the story line and with each other, though most of the humans in the book accept the incomprehensible story line all too eagerly. But I suppose that is the poetic license of a sci-fi writer. Overall it is a good book but won't make a sci-fi fan out of me, although any book that has dishonest, conniving, pro-life, right wing zealot MALES impregnated by aliens is worth a read!!
I will release this book tonight in Cambridge on one of the benches on the inbound side of the Central Square Red line station.
