I picked up this book at the British Red Cross shop in York today. I will add it to my To Be Read pile.

A poignant memoir detailing Alan's mother's battle with depression. It also explores his family history, and is a fascinating insight into the life of a family in post war Yorkshire.

I left this book on the OBCZ bookshelf in Trinity shopping centre this afternoon.

Saw this on the release alerts on Friday morning, knowing I would be in Leeds on Saturday afternoon. Caught it after much scanning of the shelves around 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

Looking forward to reading it, but may take some time as TBR piles are huge!

As usual Alan Bennett makes you laugh and cry. He just writes about real life and real people, particularly his family.
