1994 Random House hardcover, with dust jacket, of the reputedly true bestseller tale of a Savannah mystery. This was made into a 1997 film starring Kevin Spacey and John Cusack, and directed by Clint Eastwood. I bought this copy a couple years ago for 25 cents from the sale shelf at Dimond Library.
Edit March 23, 2011: This started out really fascinating, as all the quirky characters and scenes were introduced, but then it sort of became tedious after a while. Plus, I found the characters to all be somewhat distasteful in a self-centered way. But overall it was a good, unique read. I wanted to get this read before I view the film again, which also left me with the same general impression, as I recall. The book, with more background detail and character logic, certainly explained some of the film's bizarre moments.

... in a bag-o-books for the next meetup of TriValley BookCrossing group, at Panera Bread, the second Tuesday of the month. If I make it out there from here by then.
Aside from loving shared books, my main passion in life is supporting the human rights work of my good friend, Anni Cyrus. 💖 💖 Her life story of survival as a childhood refugee is astounding, and quite moving!
Please look her up on Google and YouTube. You can also follow her on Facebook and Instagram, among other platforms.
