I received this as a RABCK, thank you very much, LadyCrymsyn! :)
I don't like many new detective novels because they seem to be filled with so many gory details. This was different, perhaps because it was originally published in the 90s. The story is setting in the bookstore world during the 80s, which makes all the book hunting more exciting and interesting (no Internet yet, at least not for general public).
I really liked this story quite a lot. Thanks for letting me read this, LadyCrymsyn. I will either release the book in the wild or take it to a BookCrossing meeting here in Tampere or somewhere else... :)

I'll take this to our Tampere BC meeting today.
Edit. Nobody took the book, so it will continue its travel later.

The book will be sent to Merolia, a fellow BookCrosser in Greece. :) Since the book was a RABCK when I received it, I thought it would be cool to re-RABCK (can you say like that) it. Happy reading, Merolia! :)
Ta-dah! The book just started her or his (it's easier to know the genres than genders of books) journey to Greece. Happy reading!
Arrived!! Thank you so much Lukutoukka for this wonderful RABCK!
Very enjoyable read, especially for book lovers. I found the main protagonist very likable, although by no means flawless. There is an interesting an unusual twist (for a crime novel) concerning his career. However, I admit that I was expecting quite more overall. More surprises on plot perhaps, or (especially) I hoped it would deal with older and more rare books. On the other hand, the world of book dealers of first editions was a new one to discover.
Thanks again Lukutukka!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
To Tanamo
The book has safely arrived with me. Thank you rodespringbal.
Finally got round to reading this and fully enjoyed it. Having read the book's premis I was pretty sure I would - I mean a book-loving cop - what's not to enjoy? It may have been old style book hunting because of the date the book was written but I still found it fascinating and the plot was good too. I didn't guess the perp till quite late on in the tale. I'd like to read more from this author so I'll be keeping a look out for him when trawling some of the old style bookstores that still exist in the UK.
Rabck to another bookcrosser.

This finally arrived, safe and sound with its companion, in my Kathmandu post box. They are the first things to reach me that were sent pre-lockdown which was reassuring, as several others are still traveling somewhere in the world and I hope this means they will arrive, eventually, too. Thank you so much, Tanamo!

Despite several attempts, I was never able to get more than a few chapters in, it just didn't click with me, and I found his rather callous or matter-of-fact attitude to killing people disturbing, for the good guy. Making sure it continues its travels, though!
