A very good book to register on the 7th anniversary of my joining BookCrossing. It has come to me through Southrn Cross Book Exchange. I really enjoyed Paulo Coelho's "The Alchemist" and expect to find this one as absorbing.

From back cover:
To love is to lose control!
Pilar fell in love when she was seventeen, but her lover left to exlore the world beyond their home town. Eleven years on, she's a feisty young woman who has learned to expect nothing from men, until she receives an unexpected call from her childhood sweetheart. He's grown into a handsome, charismatic spiritual teacher who has turned to religion as a refuge from his inner conflicts.

Together they journey through the French Pyrenees, and she discovers more about her lover's miraculous spiritual gifts. But as they grow closer, the question arises: will he be forced to choose between romantic love and love for the whole of humanity?

I found this required fierce concentration and a certain amount of dispensing with scepticism. It is a beautifully written story that would perhaps appeal more to readers with stronger faith than I currently have.
Having had no experience at all with speaking in tongues those few passages sat uneasily with me.
I'm really pleased to have had the opportunity to read the book as I'd always have wondered about the name.
The ending was most satisfactory.

Not sure how long this has been on my TBR mountain. Finally got round to reading it.
Have to agree with Sherlockfan - beautifully written but too religious for me. Enjoyed reading it though.
