1949 Random House hardcover, with dust jacket, of the pictorial history of the culture of the United States from 1896 up through the middle of the 20th Century. I found this copy last year in the free books pile on the porch of Dimond Library.
Edit December 16, 2018: This was a bit too texty, but a great overview of early industrial Americana. I currently have this ranked at #2672 on my ranked list of best-read books lately.
