This was one of the first books I read about epidemics, and sparked my curiosity regarding medical science! For a very long time I wished to be an epidemiologist, and much of the interest most likely stemmed from this book, and books like it.

I haven't read this title yet, however I am eager to read it. My teen daughter tells me it's a good read and we have very similar taste in books. This is my first catch, so I am very excited!

This was my first find, so I mistakenly journaled it without first signing in. I am still very excited about this catch and I can't wait to read and release it!

I picked up this book from my neighbor's "Little Library" - a large, bright yellow bird-house-design kiosk that sits on her lawn for "patrons" to borrow or leave books. I'd participated in other "read and leave" programs, so I decided to give this a try. I tried, I really tried to read this book. I'm a real fan of good Y.A. books, but some historic Y.A. fiction leaves me cold. That's what this did, even though it was printed by Scholastic. From the far-side of the YA group, I have a more critical eye toward probable incidents, so from what I read, I can say a pre- or teen might enjoy the concept of plague, death and panic. Vocabulary will have tehm tossing this aside, or searching for more information. Come to think of it, I read enough to know that this might appeal to some rather maudlin young readers. Just felt that they're much more sophisticated readers out there who might want to know more about other plagues or epidemics closer to their lifetime...SARS, Legionairres Disease, etc.
