Of course, this is the classic that spawned numerous imitators.

Book arrived today. Thank you! I've put it next on my to be read list, so I should be able to finish it pretty soon and send it along on another journey somewhere.
I was a bit disappointed in this book. I had heard so many good things about it, so I thought it would be v. funny and a great read. It was just okay. I'm happy to have read it because I had been wanting to for so long, but now I know that I wasn't missing out on a whole lot. Maybe I just didn't quite get enough into the book. I also had a hard time liking Bridget, which with a journal written from her POV is not a good thing as it might be why I didn't enjoy the book as much. Perhaps seeing the movie first was a bad thing as I found myself liking what happened in the movie much better than in the book (a rare occurrence for me). So that was probably what also made me not be as excited about this book.
