1947: Jackie Robinson breaks major-league baseball's color barrier--and changes the world. The event also changes the life of Joseph Burke, veteran of World War II and Robinson's bodyguard--because under the media spotlight, hard truths are easier than ever to see, and harder to escape. Received in the mail a few days ago from bookstogive's Mystery VBB. I usually love Robert B Parker, so I'm looking forward to reading this one. Thanks.
This book was sooooo different from any other Robert B Parker's that I've read, as it is based on actual people and historic events. I enjoyed it quite a bit and it is ready to find a new reader.
