A pretty good book, Timothy Leary has been known for writing some pretty odd stuff in his day, this is a little more mellow and logical than his other stuff. I originally got this when I was going through some serious depression and had a great deal of thoughts about suicide and really wondered about death and its sociological impact. This book doesn't downplay death as some dark morbid thing we hope never to face, but as a life journey that can be viewed as a just as important as living, and maybe more important. From the biological imperatives, to the sociological ramifications death is looked at from every standpoint.

It also gives an interesting view of Timothy Leary himself, without a lot of crazed new agey mumbo jumbo. Its like if uncle Tim came by and started talking real english to you not holding back much about himself. No apologies, a few regrets, but who doesn't have a few of those. An important book, for those needing to know, sometimes with a rabid necessity what is death from as many angles as one can comprehend. A scary thing when you think about it, but something we all eventually need to know.
