This book is a wonderful fable about a young man setting out into the world to seek his fortune. Sort of a "Wizard of Oz" for the spiritually minded. I am sharing this book with friends with a light spirit who are themselves near the beginning of their journeys.
Just got this from my boss as a Christmas gift. This will be my first book using BookCrossing.com, so I'm excited. :)
I decided to read this as fast as possible to send it on the road again, which is exactly where it is now.
Review: While I don't consider myself a very spiritual person, I appreciated this book and its good points regarding life, its many paths, and the consequences/benefits of our own life decisions. I've never been a strong believer in the fate argument, so to some degree I distanced myself with the 'omens' of The Alchemist; however, on the whole I enjoyed following along on the shepherd's journey.
