the room full of mirrors was a fantastic book. I've learned some interesting things about jimi hendrix as a rock star and as a person himself. the book does a great job of defining how the great rocker jimi hendrix influenced the modern art of guitar. it stated how he started out as a low class stereotypical neighborhood guitarist and grew into the legendary musician. along that way I've came to figure out that Hendrix put more effort into his guitar than he did into actually living his life. it was pretty crazy, Jimi was thought to believe that he put in twenty years of practice into four years of playing. Charles R. Cross did a great job portraying his music career and his growing up as a kid. its a truly inspiring story that makes you just want to get up and play guitar. in the story, there are some interesting explanations about Jimi's playing style. it explains to you how Jimi can play both lefty and righty on his guitar and how he was bipolar so he would play in the dark. this was an excellent biography and i found it to be very entertaining myself. it was interesting to understand him as a personal idol. he had a lot of pride issues with his father. at the end of the book jimi pays for his first meal for his father. then it explains how he died. i would highly recommend this book to any jimi hendrix influenced guitar players or any guitar players in general who want an inspiring story
