I loved this book, full review to follow. I am lending it to a friend.
My review:-
This book had me in tears several times. I thought it was such an original idea and I was fascinated to read of the main character's past life through the people he met in heaven. It has quite short chapters and lots of them give details of specific birthdays of the main character. I can't say too much without spoiling the story for others but I thought the book was very well written and if heaven is really like that then I hope there is a place ready for me when my time comes.
This copy has a different cover from that illustrated on this page.
My friend took this book from the UK to Costa Rica and back and it has now been lent to her partner for him to read.

After my friend's partner read this book she lent it to another friend-no reviews as yet.
Since then my husband has read it. His comments are as follows:- " Didn't enjoy this book very much. The idea by the author might have been good but most of the time my enjoyment was short lived, ha ha! I found it very disjointed and was disappointed with it after rave reviews and recommendations from my wife and her friends."

I read this book cover to cover on a 10 hour flight to Costa Rica! It grabbed my from the first page although I did have to keep putting it down as it made me cry several times. Its about the fact that everything we do and every decision we make has a knock-on effect on someone else and I loved the idea that our lives and the impact we've had on others is explained to you when you die. Its not depressing but does tug at the heart strings if you're a softie like me. Looking forward to reading his other book "Tuesday's with Morrie".

When re-releasing this book please be aware that airports are not a good place to leave books unless they have a specific book exchange shelf or area, due to security problems, so they may well just be disposed of. Also charity shops may well discard books that have been labelled in any way and they mostly chose only the books in the very best condition
to place on their shelves and discard the rest-so another bad release option.

REVIEW:- (second time around) I was very glad that Eddie was able to run when he got to heaven and I do so hope that I'll be able to, again, if and when I get there myself. The story is a very unusual, and at times very harrowing, take on the after-life with a lot of emotion thrown in and a quite satisfying ending. I have to say that I wasn't quite so enthusiastic about it in general as when I read it the first time but it was definitely well worth the effort."

Thank you so much for the tag - books arrived safe and well this morning.

5 April 21 - I don’t think I’ve ever read anything like this before but I quite liked the idea behind it. The five people you meet in heaven are not necessarily the five most important people from your life, and yet they have all had some kind of impact. And considering the subject, I didn’t find it difficult to read although it is a bit bitty at times.

I really enjoyed this book and read it within 24 hours, which is for me very quick. To be fair, it isn't a big book. It is unusual in format and this was refreshing. I also like that it doesn't tell you the ending, until right at the end.
