Anansi Boys

Should probably be listed as "Fantasy", assuming one considers it impossible to have a God for a father.
Macht sich per Post auf den Weg zu sternenwolf - viel Vergnügen!
Arrived today save and sound. Going to read it very soon. Thanks at d-vineland for rabcking and sending. :)
Edit 05.09. Just finished this book and as expected I liked it quite a lot. Anansi Boys is the story about an old african spider god an his two sons Fat Charlie and Spider. Fat Charlie lives in England, works as a bookkeeper and is planning his wedding with Rosie. Fat Charlie ist kinda likeable loser. Rosie decides that he schould invite his father to their weeding and as he wants to he learn that his father has recently died.
He travels to Florida to participate the funeral und there he find out that his father wasn't a normal man but an old god named Anansi, the spider. And also he learns that he got a brother and he could contact him when he told a spider he liked to see him. As he does Spider show up a day later in London and Fat Charlies live a mess from this moment on.
How Fat Charlie tries to sort out teh chaos that was his live? Just read it!
I truly loved Neil Gaiman type of writing since I've read Stardust a few years ago. After this I also read Coraline and The Graveyard Book by him and just loved them as well. Anansi Boys isn't an exception here. It's an humourous and excting kind of book with some strange, but adorable characters and with kind of a odd story. Excatly what you expect by an Neil Gaiman book of course!
After reading, it will travel as Ray to:
1.Tiamat-muc
2.Lunalara
3.Die Henkerin
4.Nachtgeier

Macht sich jetzt (endlich) auf den Weg zu Tiamat-muc... Sorry wegen der langen Verzögerung ich bin im Moment ein wenig verplant.
arrived today
I love Neil Gaiman and I also loved Anansi and his two boys. Although I had some trouble getting into the story - but this may be because I have so much else to do and meet with my friends more often than I read.
The interview at the end is great - I had as much fun reading as Neil had writing about Charlies hangover. I think we both were looked at funny in public (c:
Couldn't find Lunalara so I asked dieHenkerin for her adress. She wants to be skipped so I asked Nachtgeier

Just unwrapped my parcel! Whow, a book! ;-)
And a nice ****mas card. Love it. Thank you, Tiamat-muc! :)
25.01.2012: A very entertaining story, but somehow I had problems to get out of it. :) It took me a week to finish the last 50 pages. Everything was already settled then.
Nevertheless, a Gaiman is always worth the time.
I'll push the forum thread for the ray up now, maybe someone else will join in.
And the Ray continues...

Heute aus der Packstation gefischt. . .

So, this will be Gaiman's last chance... but I have to say it looks interesting.
